We were finally able to partake of the full Paiute Trail feast instead of nibbling a little here and there. It was everything we imagined and can’t wait to go back for more.

In order to compete in the side-by-side segment in North America, a manufacturer has to come with a lot of bells and whistles to gain some attention. CFMoto is doing what it can to ring the bell and blow the whistle.

If you’re one of those who stores your side-by-side or ATV for the winter, you just might want to take a look at Can-Am’s Apache Backcountry Track Systems. They are one way to lengthen out the riding season.

We never get tired of looking at project side-by-sides and that includes the new IBEXX RZR, dubbed Sully.

There are many methods of protecting your vehicle. We’ve compiled a variety of ways to do just that.

Riding is riding, right? Not when you go to Moab for the first time. One of Dirt Toys’ newest staff members got his first taste of ROTR and Moab. Here is his report.

The new Honda Talon R and Talon X have joined the burgeoning sport side-by-side market. We think it will have an immediate impact. Here’s why.

The competition is fierce and sometimes bruising.
The sport side-by-side waters are getting increasingly crowded (and about to get more crowded this fall) and while that segment is extremely popular the big fish (shark) in that pond has been the Polaris RZR, both in terms of units sold as well as the sheer number of different vehicles offered.
The waters just got more crowded as Polaris added a new class—the Pro XP—with three new RZR models to choose from.
That’s exactly what our previous experience with central Utah’s Paiute Trail system has been like—until last summer.
We’ve ridden parts of this truly amazing trail system before but not to the extent we did last summer when we embarked on a two-day 200-plus mile ride that exposed us to some of the best riding—and scenery—in Utah. Even then, we didn’t ride every last mile of the famed Paiute Trail and we’re hungry for more. The ride last summer just whet our appetite for more.
The endorsement came when we were headed home from a Can-Am event in Quebec, riding back to the airport in a shuttle along with a fellow editor. That editor and I were talking about the CFMoto side-by-sides when the driver, in broken English (the driver was French-Canadian), told us how much he enjoys his CFMoto side-by-side and how he has never had any issues with it.
All this before we even had some decent seat time in our demo unit.
No, this is about a different level of adventure, whether it be for pure recreation or hunting or fishing or, in some cases, simply to be able to move around in the snow for work and/or ranching.
Track kits, as was pointed out by BRP’s Allen Bernais, are not new to the market but they continue to get better and one of the latest creations are Can-Am’s Apache Backcountry and Backcountry LT Track Kits.

Most of us in the powersports industry don’t seem to ever get tired of looking/gawking/staring at project side-by-sides all the way from mild to wild.
One that caught our eye recently is a project build by American Falls, ID-based IBEXX. IBEXX specializes in all things clutching for side-by-sides and snowmobiles.
And since IBEXX is located (relatively-speaking) right down the road from Dirt Toys Magazine’s eastern Idaho offices, we made the drive to American Falls to see and ride in the IBEXX project RZR, known as Sully. Yes, that Sully from Monsters, Inc.
IBEXX started with a 2019 Polaris RZR XP Turbo and added a raft full of accessories but, for the most part, stayed with the already impressive performance of the RZR Turbo except for some clutching changes.
Here are most of the highlights on Sully. We say most because although it was mostly complete by the time we saw it, there were still four aftermarket pieces missing.
Whether it’s from the sun, the wind, the rain or the rocks, you need to be protected from the harsh environment of backcountry riding. The editors of Dirt Toys Magazine have collected a solid list of products that will protect both you and your ride from the elements.
You can cover yourself completely with a full enclosure to your UTV, or you can add roofs, windshields and doors according to your needs. And as for your vehicle, skidplates and bumpers keep you protected from rocks and sagebrush.
The nice thing about these products is that they allow you to start riding earlier in the season and extend your riding late into the fall … and in come cases, year-round.
My heart was beginning to beat faster, and the butterflies in my stomach were fluttering like they used to when I was a small child.
As I parked and got ready to unload my side-by-side I began to have an overwhelming feeling of being completely unprepared for what I was about to do. This is the most vivid memory I have of the first time I went to Moab, UT, to experience the annual Rally on the Rocks.
Is it us or is the sport side-by-side segment all of a sudden getting crowded?
Honda, as you know by now, is the latest powersports manufacturer to jump into the sport side-by-side segment and looks to make an immediate impact.
Can the new Talon X and Talon R do that?
Heck, yes. And here are nine reasons why.
